Have you ever been in a meeting or training where the facilitator shouts out a question, full of energy and hope, and no one responds?
Have you ever been included in a brainstorming session where ten people attend and only two shouts out ideas? Have you asked ""any questions"" and had none?
Can you hear crickets chirping?
Are you tired of the crickets and want a conversation?
In this session, we'll talk about the differences in adults - from personality to learning style to disabilities - which add to the cricket response.
I'll teach you ways to be more inclusive which will stop the crickets and start the conversation. Lastly, we'll learn to be OK with silence, realizing those crickets may actually be though bubbles & gears turning in motion.
Attendees leave this session with a few tips and tricks (sending questions and agendas ahead, learning how to ask the right open-ended questions, and how to be more inclusive based on people's abilities, for example) to increase conversation and decrease crickets.
Attendees will also learn more about their own preferences, styles, and how to communicate these needs in meetings & training sessions. Lastly, they'll leave with a reading list to sharpen their skills.
