As a woman in IT, I always felt like I had to take on more and more work to prove myself.
I worked nights, weekends, traveled frequently, and did whatever it took to not show weakness. I had to, right?
I was the only woman leader in IT. I was good at this at first (or so I thought). I felt driven and accomplished, was getting promotions and raises (all of which required more work).
I didn't realize the impact I was having on my children, my marriage, and my health.
I had to stop but I didn't want to lose my status among the "good ol' boys". In this session I will discuss how I was able to take back my life and still be successful using 3 agile rules to live by:
- Prioritize based on values
- Manage my WIP (work in progress)
- Focus on Individuals and Interactions
